My Favorite Soap Making Supplies

Cold process soap-making is more than just a craft. I think of it as a blend of creativity, science, and a touch of magic. Over the years, I've discovered that having the right tools can make all the difference in creating beautiful, high-quality soaps. Whether you're a seasoned soap artisan or just starting your journey, the right supplies can elevate your process and results.

I've rounded up my ride-or-die soap-making supplies, including the exact stick blender that never lets me down, the mixing utensils that don’t warp when things get heat up, and my favorite molds, cutters, scale, and other equipment.

Stick Blender: A stick blender is a soap-making essential for quickly and efficiently bringing your oils and lye solution to trace, ensuring a smooth and consistent soap batter. After trying so many throughout the years, this is my favorite (plus the attachments are super useful).

Silicone Spatulas: These flexible and heat-resistant tools are perfect for scraping every last bit of soap batter from your mixing bowl and ensuring no ingredient goes to waste and they've held up for yearrrs.

Beginner Soap Equipment Kit: This all-in-one kit is ideal for beginners, providing a good starter mold and cutters for shaping and slicing your creations.

My Go-To Soap Mold: This sturdy and reliable mold is perfect for creating beautiful soap loaves that are easy to cut into uniform bars. I also have many other soap molds from this company.

My Favorite Cavity Mold: This mold has individual cavities, making it a breeze to create perfectly shaped single bars of soap without the need for cutting.

Single Bar Soap Cutter: This single bar cutter ensures precision when slicing individual bars from your soap loaf, giving you clean and even edges.

Multi-Bar Cutter: This tool is a time-saver for cutting multiple bars at once, ensuring consistent sizes and reducing effort.

Scale: Accurate measurements are crucial in soap-making, and a reliable scale helps you weigh your ingredients with precision for perfect results every time.

Infrared Thermometer: This handy thermometer allows you to quickly check the temperature of your oils and lye solution without direct contact, ensuring they’re at the right range for mixing.

Easy Pouring Containers: These containers make it simple to pour soap batter into molds with precision, reducing mess and ensuring clean layers or designs.

Glass Mixing Bowl: This durable glass bowl is great for mixing your soap batter, as it’s heat-resistant and easy to clean (plus is aesthetically pleasing).

Custom Soap Stamp: Add a personal touch to your soap bars with a custom stamp, perfect for branding or creating unique designs.

Soap Beveler: A soap beveler is an great tool for adding a professional touch to your handmade soap bars. It smooths and rounds the edges, giving your soaps a polished finish while also making them more comfortable to hold and use. Perfect for elevating the look and feel of your creations!

Gloves: Essential for protecting your hands from lye and raw soap batter, gloves are a must-have for safe soap-making.

Microfiber Cloths: These cloths are perfect for cleaning up spills and keeping your workspace tidy.

Arm Sleeves: I don't always like to wear long-sleeves when soaping but I always need to protect my arms from accidental splashes of lye or soap batter, so I wear these arm sleeves.

Safety Glasses: Of course we need to protect our eyes from potential splashes of lye or raw soap batter, so I wear these safety glasses.
