Ingredients
70g | 35% - Shea Butter
40g | 20% - Mango Butter
20g | 10% - Fractionated Coconut Oil
28g | 14% - Grapeseed Oil
26g | 13% - Safflower Oil
14g | 7% - Arrowroot Powder
1g | 0.5% - Vitamin E
1g | 0.5% - Raspberries & Cream Fragrance Oil
Directions
Melt the butters gently using a double boiler or by placing them in a heat-safe bowl over a pot of simmering water.
Once fully melted, remove from heat and stir in the fractionated coconut oil, grapeseed oil, and safflower oil until well combined.
Place the mixture in the refrigerator and allow it to chill until it reaches a thick, pudding-like consistency.
Using a hand mixer, whip the mixture on high speed for 4-6 minutes.
Slowly add in the arrowroot powder. Mix in with spatula or other mixing utensil.
Add the vitamin E and fragrance oil, mix with hand mixer until fully incorporated.
Allow the whipped butter to rest for at least 10 minutes, then give it a final 30-second whip before transferring it into jars.
Notes
Shea butter provides richness and structure in this recipe. You may substitute it with mango butter for a lighter feel or cocoa butter for a firmer, more heat-stable product.
Grapeseed and safflower oils keep this butter lightweight and fast-absorbing. You may substitute one or both with jojoba, sunflower, or rice bran oil at equal percentages.
Whipped body butters are sensitive to heat. Store finished products in a cool, dry area and avoid exposure to high temperatures during storage or shipping.
Keep fragrance oil within supplier-recommended usage rates for leave-on products. Essential oils may be used, but usage rates should be reduced and carefully selected for skin safety.
